About the role

You will join our Product Development Department at AVK Tech, where we develop mechanical solutions for AVK's global product range. The role combines hands-on product development, technical project management, and technical leadership. You will manage your own development projects while also supporting colleagues through design reviews, knowledge sharing, technical mentoring, and helping shape the technical direction of the department.

You will work cross-functionally with product management, internal development teams, production units, suppliers, and colleagues across the AVK Group. Our products serve primarily the water and gas sectors, with a growing focus on industrial applications. This gives you the opportunity to work with different valve types, markets, applications, and technical requirements.

Your key responsibilities

• Develop robust mechanical solutions from initial idea through validation and release to serial production.

• Drive and coordinate product development projects, including scope, planning, budget, progress, and technical documentation.

• Work closely with product management, production units, internal specialists, suppliers, and AVK companies across the world.

• Ensure that product solutions meet customer needs as well as applicable standards, directives, quality requirements, and internal development processes.

• Provide technical leadership in mechanical discussions and design reviews.

• Mentor less experienced colleagues and contribute to raising the technical level of the department.

• Help improve development methods and processes so that products can be developed more effectively, reliably, and with clear technical decision-making.

What you bring

• A degree in mechanical engineering or a similar relevant discipline.

• At least 10 years of experience in mechanical product development, preferably with products or components designed for serial production.

• The ability to independently develop, assess, and document mechanical solutions, balancing performance, manufacturability, cost, quality, and customer requirements.

• A systematic and analytical approach, with strong attention to precision, product requirements, quality, and technical risk.

• The confidence to challenge assumptions constructively, keep projects technically focused, and communicate clearly with different stakeholders.

• Professional proficiency in English and the ability to communicate technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

We prefer if you have

• Experience with DFMEA, tolerance stack-ups, technical reviews, and structured product validation.

• Experience managing product development projects from concept to production implementation.

• Experience from an international, product-focused company or another industrial environment with serial production.
